Blitzkrieg Commander is one of the most popular WWII rulesets of the past decade with over 5000 copies sold so far across Editions 1 and 2. This 3rd Edition remains true to the BKC you're familiar with, but with a bit of a refresh on the text. All of the core elements remain in the game and everything should run much the way it always has. Things that you may find work slightly differently include:
Scale - Established at '1 base = 1 platoon'
Terrain (movement, visibility and cover) - Revamped and simplified in places.
Basic Actions - Now set out in defined actions list.
Unit Abilities (including profiles) - Revamped.
Command Units - Revamped and can now fight and be knocked out like other units.
Close Assault - Streamlined.
Off-table Support - Streamlined.
Engineering - Streamlined and moved to command phase.
Recce Actions - Streamlined.
Exceptions & Special Rules - Extracted into formal 'special abilities' for units.
Army Lists - Revamped and increased.
If you know and love Blitzkrieg Commander already then BKC-III should hopefully feel familiar but fresh to you. For those new to these rules, grab yourself a copy and see what everyone is talking about!
Starmada Unity Rulebook
Starmada™ is a miniatures board game of starship combat. At its most basic level, players take command of space fleets in a general attempt to reduce each other to just so much space junk. At its most advanced, the game can be customized to breathe life into any science fiction background that players might imagine.
Novices shouldn't fret; the core set of rules has been designed with simplicity and ease of play in mind, accessible even to beginners. On the other hand, seasoned veterans should find the concise nature of the rules quite refreshing. It allows players to concentrate on the finer points of squashing their opponents rather than arguing about rules interpretations, without sacrificing any of the flavor or excitement of more complex games.
Simple, but not simplistic, is the guiding principle.
The goal of this edition, designated PROJECT UNITY, was to draw from the best parts of each incarnation of the game, from the Compendium and Starmada X, through the Admiralty Edition and 2012's Nova Rulebook, and unify those concepts in a way that allows experienced starship captains to continue enjoying the game they love while drawing new players into the fold.
Long-time players will be thrilled to learn there is no need to convert existing starship designs to this new edition: comprehensive rules are included which allow players to use both Admiralty and Nova ship display sheets with a minimum of modification.
With the release of the Unity Rulebook, we hope to revitalize the game and introduce the thrills of tabletop battles in deep space to a whole new generation. The Universal Game of Starship Combat is back, and better than ever!
Trireme Commander is a game of tactical naval combat, focused on the simulation of combat between small fleets of galleys, rather than great naval engagements. Supported by our full range of Galleys & crews in 10mm scale.
The objective of the simulation is combat between a few galleys in situations such as combat patrol, merchant escort, counter-piracy actions, and pirate assaults, etc. A game is best played with two to four galleys per player.
