Slasher Assault Gun

In 2255 the White Motor Co. AFV Division located in New London in the Imperium made an inspired decision to hire straight out of Oxford University, 15 year old Albert J. Penrose to head up its robotics and AFV design section.  Despite the fact that young Penrose had completed all the robotics and mechanical design classes offered by both Oxford and the Imperial University, he was still relatively unknown, and there was much second guessing among the upper management of the White Motor Co.   Ok, so he was a genius, but a 15 year old kid?   What could they expect from one so wet behind the ears, so to speak?  Upper management wanted a design for a medium tank that could compete both in quality and price against the new Devil Cat by Throp-Merro. 

Young Penrose hit the AFV Division like a hurricane hitting a confetti factory.   Dust and time encrusted managers were flying out the doors and windows in every direction   In one week Penrose submitted a detailed proposal not only for a medium tank he called the Slayer, but for a family of Armored Fighting Vehicles including an Assault Gun (Slasher) and an Armored Personnel Carrier (Shield) utilizing most of the same automotive components and armor. 

Both major competitors for the planned new AFV Family, the M-50 Meat Grinder and the newer Devil Cat both suffered from being designed to an outdated standard, both as to their physical size, weight and antiquated automotive components.   The new Slayer tank was to be a third larger and heavier, with a bigger gun and heavier armor.   So when the Slayer and its brothers the Slasher Assault Gun and the Shield APC were unveiled in early 2257 the armaments industries of the Federation went nuts.

The Slasher has K (175) Armor, Hit points 650.   The Main Gun on the Slasher is a 100mm Rocket Assisted Rifle with 20 rounds.   The secondary armament is usually a HCMG or LMG Power Gun mounted in the cupola.  The vehicle normally carries a crew of two.

Note:  The Slasher Assault Gun packs a terrific punch with a main gun consisting of a 100mm RAR, which fires twice per turn.   These vehicles should be accompanied by separate ammunition supply in-as-much-as the ammunition is very bulky and they tend to run through their ready supply very rapidly.
